Winter sets in...

...but there is a flush of new flowers in the Royal Botanic Gardens, all competing for the camera. The day was nice and sunny with moderate wind, perfect for photo taking.

I took lots of camellia shots this time as they seem to be in season at the moment. We saw a lot of new plants in the flower beds so in a few weeks time we will get another treat of flowers on display.

I expect the peach blossoms to come out too in a week or so when the weather is right, hopefully we can get some more shots of those this year.

All in all, I'm not too happy with my Byron Bay shots, but this was my first attempt at photos while travelling...I have learnt some new things from the experience :)

The St Mary's Cathedral...breath taking with it s beautiful structure during the day, but even more so during these nights when the Sydney Vivid Light Show is on.

What an exciting night of photography!

The vivid show was definitely worth going to (and taking photographs of...) It's a rare chance to see Sydney's beautiful old buildings dressed in so much colours and light...

To the garden again!

Back to the Royal Botanic garden. Autumn's footsteps are closing in and most of the flowers have disappeared.

I was hoping to get a few photos of Autumn leaves but there weren't much of those around either. Instead I took a few shots at different angles to see if I could get variations of images. Hopefully the garden will be replenished with new flowers or plants for us to photograph.

Visit to St Mary's Cathedral

Shots taken of the St Mary's Cathedral and Hyde Park fountain using my original 28-200mm lens...I'm quite happy with the results. The weather wasn't the greatest that day and as per the first photo I had a few raindrops which fell on my lens so the image is slightly flawed.

Unfortunately the cathedral no longer permits photography inside so I didn't manage to take any photos of the interior which was also beautiful.
